Ride The White Lightning

Just like Metallica’s album Ride the Lightning, this cocktail I’m about to share with you will give you a good ass kicking! It’s festive, it’s strong; thusly named – White Lightning.

White Lightning cocktail with vanilla vodka, peppermint schnapps, and Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur

So, lets say you’re hosting a party near the holidays, and you want to serve something special for your guests. The old go-to’s like Jack and Coke, or vodka and cranberry are good and all, but they’ve gotten old and crusty. This cocktail is PERFECT, because it’s sweet enough for the girliest girl, yet strong enough for the manliest man. Best of all, it pairs well with holiday cookies!

Last year I hosted a Christmas Cookie party, so I searched and searched for a specialty cocktail that would fit the occasion. I found Sandra Lee’s Candy Cane Cocktail, but it was WAY too peppermint-y. I decided to leave out half of the peppermint schnapps, and double-up the vodka! It turned out strong as hell, and absolutely perfect. It was such a hit that it made an appearance on New Years Eve! So, turn up one of the most awesome albums ever, and lets get shakin’!

This drink looks fantastic! I will certainly be trying this for the holidays. Love the blog too and can’t wait to try some recipes. It was nice to meet you and your husband in Phoenix over the weekend. Always nice to meet other beet lovers.
